Janice Yee Villanueva

Family: Mike Villanueva- husband of 21 years, Daimon David- 20 year old son, Seth Atomos – 18 year old son and Zachary Pedro- 14 year old son.

Past Experience: Started working with children at age 15 as an after-school program teacher/teacher’s assistant ; taught in the Sacramento Unified School District as a first and second grade teacher for 6 years ; transferred over to the Natomas Unified School District to become a Reading Specialist for 1 year; taught second/third grade for 4 years after becoming a Reading Specialist.

Current Position: The owner of MILE Preschool LLC (opened in 2005); Head Teacher for the Universal Preschool (a free program for all 4 year olds who reside in West Sacramento ) for 18 years; curriculum specialist for both programs and teacher for the Pre-Kindergarten program and a 20% contracted elementary teacher for the Washington Unified School District.

Education: BA in Child Development ; MA in Language and Literacy ; Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Crosscultural, Language & Academic Development emphasis ; Reading Specialist Credential; Site Supervisor Permit. All degrees and credentials were obtained through California State University , Sacramento . Participant in CARES Plus Yolo County for 3 years and trained in CSEFEL and a liaison for West Sacramento Home Run.

Hobbies: Enjoys spending time with her family especially watching her 3 boys navigate through life; loves running with friends; serving at the church; loves visiting and relaxing with family in San Francisco. Her newest hobby is substitute teaching for numerous districts during her "off time" as she loves to give back to her teacher colleagues.

Danielle Ritter

Family: Jon Ritter – husband of 25 years, Austin 20-year-old son.

Past Experience: Started working with children at age 15 as a summer camp instructor and swimming coach; Head teacher for the 2-3 year old MILE preschool program for 13 years,  Head Teacher for the afternoon Universal Preschool (a free program for all 4 year old’s who reside in West Sacramento).

Current Position: The co-owner of MILE Preschool; Head Teacher for the 2-3 year old Preschool program; Team Teacher for the afternoon MILE Preschool Pre-Kindergarten Program and afterschool program.

Education: BS degree in Social Sciences from Portland State University; Completing a MA in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Sciences from Ball State University; Autism certificate from Ball state University

Obtained many professional growth hours in various subjects offered by the Yolo County Child Care Planning Council, participant in the YOLO CARES program for 12 years, over 32 Early Childhood Education Units.

Hobbies: Enjoys spending time with family and traveling, running with friends, and being involved in our West Sacramento community.
